A Visit To Comcast's Heart of Darkness
They say you can never truly understand your enemy until you've spent a day walking around in their shoes.

Turns out the same thing holds true for pay TV providers.

With this in mind (and my eye on a HD-ready set-top for my new high-def TV) I dropped by my local Comcast payment center earlier this week to get a look at the cable giant's operation up close. (Relax, satellite folks. I don't have decent exposure at my house so I really don't have much of a choice.) »

The Hidden Hippopotamus

I can't blame anyone who thinks that it took some time for me to eventually get to the store, look at the boxes and make my subsidized purchase. During that time, I had twice-weekly soccer practices and games with my daughter, traveled to visit family, took in some sweet Utah singletrack on a mountain bike trip, and continued to have my professional and personal life turned upside down by a satellite radio merger drama that may never end. »

Kable Kid Explores Twitter
So what exactly is Twitter? According to the site: "Twitter is a service for friends, family and co–workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?"

I joined twitter as KableKid and have been playing around for a while on it.  I've been trying to figure out exactly why I'd want to keep updating what I am doing.  It sort of reminds me of one of the crawls on a TV with sports updates, just with people.   »
